Online Informational Sites Are Helpful for New Moms

My daughter is pregnant with her first child and I am excited to be grandmother for the first time.  I can’t wait for that petite darling thing to come out.  All this takes me back me to the days when I was pregnant with my daughter.  She has grown up so quickly and now is on her way to become a mother herself.  When I reflect back about the days I was raising her, I recognize that I didn’t have the same knowledge about parenting and baby goods such as organic cotton onesies as I know now.  One reason is that I was young and without experience but mostly because information was not as commonly available back then as it is now.

Whenever we go out shopping with my daughter she informs me all about these hip and gadget-y products for babies that I didn’t have the knowledge about their presence or that they were necessary.  She finds out about them mostly from the internet.  By reading reviews about organic baby clothes, comparisons of cotton vs. bamboo, and experiences of other mothers that they had during delivery, reviews about breast pumps, baby shampoos and so much more.  I consider myself the novice even though I have given birth before and raised two wonderful children, this time I am learning from her.

I’m a fast learner though.  Last week, I amazed her with a set of organic onesies I had bought online.  I could tell I picked something she liked.  She said she loved these not only because they were manufactured from organic cotton but also the tags were sawn outside of the clothes so it wouldn’t irritate the baby’s delicate skin.  Honestly, I would have never noticed that but we won’t tell her that.
